Ink

I’m not one for trying multiple inks as a pursuit in and of itself tending only to try inks to see if I would like them and stopping at that colour once I am satisfied. I have tried recently to be more adventurous picking up some samples.

I easily do 90%+ of my writing at work, which is why I have not been too adventurous to date. I need appropriate colours avoiding anything too flashy or out there that would elicit odd reactions. The bulk of my writing is in Rhodia Webnotebooks or Rhodiarama notebooks which have ivory coloured, 90gsm paper, making inks appear darker. Finally, I need ink that is easy to clean and does not damage my pens (or my desk on the occasional burp/spill).

The following is a list of inks i have tried or own. I include details of pens currently carrying particular inks.

  • Blue:
    • Pilot Iroshizuku Aso-Gao – preferred ink
      • In: Edison Glenmont LE Group Buy 2016 EEF
    • Waterman Serenity Blue – for a long time the only blue ink I would use.
    • Diamine Presidential Blue
    • Cult Pens Deep Dark Blue
    • Pilot Blue – came packed in with the Pilot Custom 74. Not an interesting colour.
    • Montblanc Miles Davis Jazz Blue – another recent addition (Dec 2016) too light for office use but used in a personal context, e.g. letter writing.
    • Diamine Teal
    • Diamine Steel Blue

      Diamine Turquoise
