This is an ink which lives up to its name. The ink is a very deep red and on ivory paper it looks almost brown. Manufactured for Cult Pens by Diamine.
Like all saturated Diamine inks, residue does build up on the nib. This is not an ink which can be left in the open; close that cap the moment you stop writing! Again, like all Diamine inks I have used, it’s very easy to clean.
The ink is quite well lubricated which is a godsend, particularly in this pen. The Sailor is a very dry writer and as such I was tempted to give up on it altogether. This ink however alleviated most of this difficulty which is great.
It’s a nice ink but appears too close to a brown on my preferred paper to get regular use.
